Now That You’re a Football Fan, You Need a Tailgating Outfit
We heard that Taylor Swift likes football, so now we like football.
Whether you’ve been going to football games for years or are toying with the idea of attending for the first time (we see you, Swifties!), a good tailgate outfit is key. It’s got to be warm, stylish, and comfy – games can go on for quite a while. Luckily, comfortable-cute is the yummie sweet spot, so grab your nachos, grab your jersey, and grab some of these tailgate-ready looks.
Outfit #1: Mason Cotton Legging with Stirrups with Non-Shaping Cami and your team’s jersey.
Jerseys, unfortunately, aren’t necessarily designed for style. By layering it over a cami and soft-tucking just the front into your fall leggings, you can add some much-needed shape to the garment. We love wearing our Mason Cotton Legging with Stirrups to games – they’ve got the same cotton fabric, waistband, and all-over shaping as our fan-favorite yummie leggings, our Rachel Shaping Legging, with the added bonus of under-the-foot straps that give you a perfect boot tuck that just won’t budge.
Our Non-Shaping Cami is mega soft with adjustable straps – jerseys aren’t designed for comfort either, so a soft base layer can keep scratchy fabrics from irritating your skin.
Outfit #2: Long Sleeve Bodysuit, your favorite jeans, and your team jersey
A long sleeve is an essential bodysuit to have in your wardrobe, and we are particular fans of our Long Sleeve Bodysuit. Wear it with your favorite jeans and your team’s jersey. If it gets too warm (or you’re eating a particularly drippy hot dog), take your jersey off; the Outlast® fabric is temperature regulating and super soft, so you can withstand an eight-hour football-a-thon. Because it’s a bodysuit, you’ll have a flawless tuck even if you’re putting that jersey on and off every hour.
Outfit #3: Elektra Coated Legging with Non-Shaping Cotton Tank and your team’s jersey
Going full glam to a football game is a bold look. Our Elektra Coated Legging is bolder than your regular legging, but makes for a stylish outfit when dressed down with a casual top. The fabric offers a subtle sheen (plus 360-degrees of shaping) that will make you stand out even as you fit in. The Non-Shaping Cotton Tank is lightweight and breathable – really, we can’t overstate how vital a base layer is under a jersey.
Outfit #4: Denim Bootcut Legging with an oversized team sweatshirt
No jersey? No problem. Plenty of people roll in with other types of team apparel, from tees to hats to sweatshirts. We love the latter paired with our Denim Bootcut Legging, a new silhouette of our best-selling Denim Legging. Both cute leggings feature our signature two-ply, hourglass waistband which dips down in the front for extra tummy support and rises in the back for a lifted-bottom effect. These comfortable leggings look like jeans, but the 4-way stretch fabric is way more wearable, perfect if the game goes into OT (aka overtime).
Outfit #5: Susie Cotton Flare Legging, our Ruby Bodysuit, and a color-coordinated flannel
If it’s your first game (or even your fiftieth), you might not have shelled out for official team merch. You can still show your pride in style with a flannel that incorporates one of your team’s signature colors. And flannels never look better than worn unbuttoned over our Ruby Bodysuit, which smooths and shapes thanks to level 3 medium shaping and a hidden, knit-in tummy panel. Wear with stylish leggings like our Susie Cotton Flare Legging, a wider-leg version of our Rachel Shaping Legging with the same shaping benefits and substantial yet comfortable cotton fabric.
Outfit #6: Ivy Bodysuit, comfortable Jogger, and a color-coordinated flannel
Our Ivy Bodysuit offers more support with level 4 firm shaping. It provides extra contouring while still being super comfortable in a tank-style bodysuit. Achieve streetwear chic by pairing with our Jogger, which is made of a buttery soft baby French terry fabric that must be touched to be believed. Top with your favorite flannel (just make sure it’s not the other team’s colors!)
